Release Third Single Summer From Their Hugely Acclaimed New Album Walk Between Worlds
Simple Minds have just released Summer, the third single from their new album, Walk Between Worlds. The album charted at #1 and #4 on the UK Vinyl and UK Album Charts respectively, making it the band’s most successful album in over 20 years.

SUMMER is a song that revisits the glassy guitars and new wave dance grooves of Simple Minds’ early career. Rather than a straight-forward ode to sunshine, the song captures the low-pressured atmosphere of thunderous summer days. With Charlie Burchill’s inimitable guitar ringing out over one of Jim Kerr’s greatest vocal performances, the song bursts into an infectious, life-affirming chorus. Summer perfectly encapsulates why so many people proclaimed Walk Between Worlds one of Simple Minds’ best ever albums.

Walk Between Worlds was produced by Simple Minds with Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg. It is an album of two distinct sides, very much the old-school album format that singer Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill grew up with as music fans. In addition to classic Simple Minds anthems and revisiting their new wave roots, the album also explores more cinematic sounds, with the title track and Barrowland Star both featuring dramatic orchestrations recorded at Abbey Road.
