Album Review: Suzi Quatro – No Control Uncategorized by Hear2Zen Magazine - February 21, 2019February 21, 20190 Artist: Suzi Quatro Album: No Control Label: SPV / Steamhammer Release Date: March 29th 2019 Suzi Quatro is one of my first musical memories. She has been one of the trailblazers for women in Rock Music, and this continues to this day. Her achievements not just in music crosses over many genres and her latest album “No Control” seems to tip the hat to all of this in the one package, while still remaining true to herself. The album has all the elements. Blues, Rock, Funk, Soul. You name it, it’s there. Songs like “No Soul / No Control” are just straight up rockers. “Macho Man” has the stomp that Quatro already has earmarked as a set opener. “Easy Picking” has it’s laid back vibe and a riff Suzi mentions has been floating around for over a decade. Then you come to “Strings”, which is grandiose and lush with such meaningful lyrics, it will grab all that listen to it. As you see something for everyone. But, there is one about the songs on this album that speak to me, and that is “the human element”. You can tell the songs were written and recorded by real people, just getting together and playing. Today’s artists could really learn a thing or two from the likes of Suzi Quatro. Learn your instrument, play it well, write from your heart and you will have songs that go the distance. The new album “No Control” will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on March 29th, 2019 as CD DigiPak, 2LP Gatefold, download and stream: https://SuziQuatro.lnk.to/NoControl No Control Tracklisting 01.
