Single Review: Rachel Lorin – Gold

Artists: Rachel Lorin
Track: Gold
Reviewer: Rod Strachan

Melbourne May 2017. I sat down with one of my rock idols Tod Howarth (707, Cheap Trick, Frehley’s Comet, Four x Fate) for a chat. At this KISS convention, we talked about many things and from that, conversation came a glowing report of a new star on the horizon. “Look up Rachel Lorin on Facebook, she is the next big thing” Tod told me.

That night I went back to the Hotel we were staying at and did as he suggested. I looked her up, added her and from there became a keen follower of her movements. Fast track two and half years and the song “Gold” comes to our attention.

Rachel delivers more than just the Gold in this relentless fight and not giving in song. Her vocals perfectly fit a powerful pop track full of self-empowering lyrics. Having watched Rachel evolve as an artist over the past 2 years this song is of autobiographical nature in her approach to her music. The companion video is a visual masterpiece with and ending truly fitting to what everyone strives to achieve.

In closing this track is a necessary listen and the video a must see! Rachel has delivered the Gold on some many levels and this is only the beginning.
