News: The Superjesus Announce Jet Age Into The 21st Century Tour

Brick Lane Brewing Co. and The Harbour Agency present…..

“2 years after the release of our first album, SUMO, we had toured for 18 months, only to be faced with coming off the road to prepare for our next album, JET AGE. Not only were we forced into a situation of writing our second album, but also line-up changes were imminent during our touring that couldn’t be ignored any longer. With a new guitarist, Tim Henwood on board, and a move to Melbourne, the writing partnership went into full swing, and before too long, we were in the studio again. To me, JET AGE was an album which in some ways incorporated not only our sound that had developed over the last few years, but also went into a new level, expanding on new horizons.

JET AGE has not been played in full, since the studio 20 years ago. This is the first time we will bring this album to life, and embark on reproducing and highlighting the album that we are all so proud of”

“Our second record Jet Age came out in the year 2000 … it was a turning point for us, not just because of the turning of the millennium but also for us it was a stamp that we could go on after the departure of our founding guitarist Chris Tennent. We were worried we would not be able to back up without him but that fear was short lived when we made Jet Age, we knew it was a good one. It was a very liberating time for us, we recorded at Festival studios in Pyrmont and stayed in Cockle Bay. I loved the walks along the water each morning to the studio, humming ideas and penning lyrics with a coffee in hand and the sunshine on my face, it was a beautiful time and that joy was reflected in the music.”
