Gold Coast indie electronic darlings, Golding have released their brand new single Boxing Underwater feat. Cailin Russo, an absolutely brilliant track. If you’re a fan of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Running Touch and Chet Faker, then you’re going to love their latest offering. Co-written by pop songwriter powerhouse Jarryd James, the mood of the track is wistful, even a little melancholy, but undeniably beautiful. Cailin’s understated vocals pair perfectly with Jay’s to create harmonious, hooky melodies, intertwined with modern and sharp production, all these ingredients create the perfect recipe for what could be Golding’s finest work to date.
The video for Boxing Underwater, filmed and directed by Nicholas Stevens (Havana Brown, Manu Crooks, Onefour) at Fastback Studios, is visually spectacular, showcasing the varying sides and emotions of relationships. Jay and Cailin’s lyrics are a seamless narrative for the real-life couple Mikalah and Zohar, who star in the clip, their chemistry really drawing you into their story.
Fresh off the back of their collaboration with Boo Seeka with the single Don’t Waste Your Love, which is on the cusp of hitting 1 millions streams on Spotify, and Alone. Together which is nudging 2 millions streams on Spotify, Golding are certainly carving out their place in this competitive indie electronic landscape.
