Tours: Legends On The Lawn Line Up Announcement Tour Annoucements by Hear2Zen Magazine - September 19, 2022September 19, 20220 A brand new concert series hits the shores at Sandstone Point Hotel this December 10th , and it is going to rock. Legends on the Lawn brings some of the biggest names in Australian music to Bribie Island for one very special event. Headlined by Jimmy Barnes, along with The Living End, Jon Stevens, Baby Animals, Richard Clapton & 1927 music lovers are in for a day packed full of classic hits. Jimmy Barnes, affectionately known by all as Barnesy, is the heart and soul of Australian rock and roll and released his 20th studio album Flesh and Blood in July 2021, which went straight to #1, as did this year’s Soul Deep 30 anniversary reissue. He has 19 #1 albums under his belt, more than The Beatles, has sold more records in Australia than any other rock and roll artist, and for over 40 years, he has delivered some of our most intense and iconic live performances. He is truly in a league of his own. The Living End are considered Australian rock legends, and for good reason. Their blistering live performances have seen them perform far and wide, and their reputation precedes them, they rock from the first note to the last. When The Living End first smashed onto the scene in 1997 with their double-A single Prisoner of Society and Second Solution, they embraced a new Australian sound and fans and critics sat up and listened. Since then, they have released seven studio albums, two of which have debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart – four of those are Platinum and two are Gold. They have been nominated for an incredible 27 ARIA Awards. Jon Stevens returns to Sandstone Point to thrill audiences with the Noiseworks & INXS Collection, which pays homage to the bands that helped cement him as Aussie rock royalty. With a career that spans more than four decades, Jon has a swag of solo hits to his name, as well as songs which have become all-time favourites from his time with bands Noiseworks, INXS and the Dead Daisies. His performance will feature hit after hit and have punters on their feet from start to finish. Baby Animals burst onto the Australian scene in the 1990s with a solid rock force and a sassy lead singer. Suze DeMarchi proved that girls rock just as hard as guys and the Baby Animals soon kicked some impressive rock butt with hits such as Rush You, Early Warning and One Word. The band scored themselves ARIA awards for Best Album and toured the globe. When they split in the mid-1990s they ended a special era of Australian music. This is an opportunity for music fans to see original rock at its best. Richard Clapton as one of Australia’s foremost singer/songwriters, paved the way for subsequent generations of songwriters to write about the experience of being Australian. When Richard began his recording career in 1974, Australia was still in the grip of the cultural cringe. He plunged into the “deep water” and legends like Skyhooks and Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel, INXS, Midnight Oil, and hundreds of others, followed in his wake. 1927 are known for enduring hits such as That’s When I Think of You, Compulsory Hero, ‘To Love Me, Scars, Don’t Forget Me, and, of course, If I Could, and made a devastating entry into the ears of its listeners with the Quintuple Platinum selling album …ish in 1988, which earned the band a slew of ARIA Awards as well as a lot of fans along the way. Following up …ish with the multi-platinum second album The Otherside, a self-titled third album, and countless live shows at home and abroad, the last couple of decades have certainly earned 1927 legendary status. Not content to rest on their laurels, after more than ten years, 1927 released a new studio album Generation i last year. It may just be the band’s finest album yet.
