Live Review: Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness – Brisbane 2023

The man of many musical hats Andrew McMahon is back in Australia, but is also In The Wilderness on his latest tour.
Hevenshe kicked off the evening with their own brand of alt angst music, and were given a respectable response from the Brisbane crowd. McMahon came on to little fanfare and in a show where its just a man and a piano, the intimacy is brought to the forefront, and you can see just how well the songs connect with the audience.

While he must be spoilt for choice when it comes to material to play from his 3 amazing bands, it must also be a little bit of a dilemma to keep yourself and the fans happy sometimes. But happy they were. The faithful stayed press against the stage all night, and plenty more dance and swayed behind. The vibe McMahon creates is other worldly and he makes everyone in attendance seem like an old childhood friend
