H2ZHW: Schuylar Croom Of He Is Legend

Welcome to the latest installment of Hanging With Hear 2 Zen
This episode we are chatting with Schuylar Croom of He Is Legend, ahead of their May tour with Hammers

Hailing from North Carolina on America’s east coast, it’s been close to eight years since He Is Legend last stepped foot on our shores, with the band previously appearing in Australia at 2015’s Soundwave Festival alongside Slipknot, Faith No More and Soundgarden, and a previous headline run also in their wake in 2007 following the release of their 2006 sophomore album Suck Out the Poison. Equally renowned for their otherworldly onstage swagger, a He Is Legend show is guaranteed to firmly get under your skin and leave you wanting more.

Schuylar brings us up to date on the upcoming tour, his health issues the changes within the bands sound over the years, how Covid literally cancelled their tour for the latest album as they were in the midst of it, and what color he ego is and why, and the fact he wants everyone to bring him toy dragons to the shows

Boasting an eclectic lineup of seven full length albums across their career, including their debut LP I Am Hollywood in 2004, 2009’s force of nature It Hates You, 2019’s ferocious White Bat and, most recently, their acclaimed 2022 outing Endless Hallway, He Is Legend may now be over two decades into their musical journey – but few ravenously raise the bar like this group of genuine rockstars in an age of imitation and oversaturation.

Their latest album release Endless Hallway received ongoing praise, emerging out of the pandemic years while showcasing the group had only strengthened in the time plagued by lockdown and isolation. With multiple songs clocking over 1 million streams and counting on Spotify alone, including 4 million for their single The Seduction, He Is Legend boast a dedicated and motivated fanbase, consistently selling out their recent vinyl reissues in extremely short spaces of time, while dropping jaws around the globe via their insatiable live shows.

Having previously toured with the likes of Killswitch Engage, Attila, While She Sleeps, Atreyu, and at an eye-watering amount of festivals over the year 2023 will also see He Is Legend appear at HeartSupport Fest in Florida alongside Rise Against, Parkway Drive, Silverstein and many more.
