The Amity Affliction have announced their highly anticipated new record Not Without My Ghosts will arrive on Friday 12^th May. Today the band reveal another cut from the album, “It’s Hell Down Here”, which frontman Joel Birch describes as “a letter from myself and Ahren, written by me, to our friends who have passed on to the other side.”

The album’s 10 songs were self-produced at Grove Studios in New South Wales. Talking about the record, the band reveal “’Not Without My Ghosts’ mostly deals with the paradox of not wanting to be alive, and yet needing to stay here, while also mourning the loss of friends and trying to use the music as catharsis.”

Earlier this week, The Amity Affliction announced a national tour in support of the record, with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Perth throughout October. For tickets and more information click HERE.

The news follows recent singles “I See Dead People” and “Show Me Your God”, which heralded the band’s return to their heavier roots. Last year, The Amity Affliction sold out a national headline tour in support of their previous album Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them, closing out the year with appearances at Good Things Festival. In 2021, the band released a trio of singles – “Like Love”, “Give Up The Ghost”, and “Somewhere Beyond The Blue”.

Over the last nearly 20 years The Amity Affliction has garnered millions of fans who deeply resonate with the band, driving both streams and kudos for the lineup. Four records in a row—2012’s Chasing Ghosts; Let the Ocean Take Me (2014); This Could Be Heartbreak (2016); and Misery (2018), debuted at #1 on Australia’s ARIA Charts. In the U.S., Let The Ocean Take Me and This Could Be Heartbreak both debuted in the top 30 Billboard Top 200, while Misery elevated the band to new critical heights, helping the band reach a total stream tally that has surpassed a billion.
