It started with cryptic billboards and towering light projections at prominent locations around Australia and a nation’s curiosity kicked in. Then fans cracked the code: Powderfinger were coming back. The tour news lit up the country, with 26 shows selling out in just days. Now the band are excited to announce that they’ll bring their 2027 tour home with a final Encore Run of shows across November and December.
Tassie and ACT fans, you’ve been heard! The Encore Run will see Powderfinger head to new locations, playing two nights at Cornelian Bay Oval, Hobart and a show at Stage 88 in Canberra. We know some of you who are local to Hobart and Canberra have already locked in plans to see the band elsewhere on the tour. If you live in TAS or ACT and you manage to get tickets to your home town show, you’ll be able to request a refund on your original event tickets. The Encore Run will also see the band pitch their stadium-sized tent back at Melbourne Park Oval for two more nights and add two additional shows in Perth at the stunning Sandalford Estate. Adelaide fans, you haven’t been forgotten. Hang in there.
For the grand finale, the band will take it outdoors for two massive festival-format shows at the Brisbane Showgrounds, bringing the tour home to the city where it all began with a bunch of amazing artists along for the ride. The very final show will be an all Bris-band celebration and a tribute to their hometown.

True to their promise, Powderfinger have curated an incredible, all-Australian lineup of support acts for the Encore Run. The band can’t wait to share their stage with Australia’s wealth of homegrown talent and to back the crews, managers and creatives who make up our music industry.
Across The Encore Run, Powderfinger will be joined by a powerhouse line-up of support acts, from Australian favourites Ocean Alley, Violent Soho, The Living End, Ball Park Music, John ButlerTrio, Something For Kate, Thelma Plum, DMA’S, You Am I, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, The Preatures, The Belair Lip Bombs and Luca Brasi, to a new wave of brilliant emerging artists including Full Flower Moon Band, South Summit, Carla Geneve, Banjo Lucia and Special Features. The response to the announcement of Powderfinger’s return to the stage has been beyond anything the band could have imagined. More than 300,000 tickets were snapped up, for the first run of tour dates, in just six days – every show in every city sold out. This Encore Run is the band’s way of making sure as many people as possible can be there for what is shaping up to be a truly special moment in Australian music.
This is it! The Encore Run marks the final Powderfinger tour locations to be announced for 2027. It’s going to be a time to remember!
