Live Review: Me First And The Gimme Gimme’s – Brisbane 2023 Live Review by Hear2Zen Magazine - February 15, 2023February 15, 20230 HEADLINER: ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMME'SSUPPORTS: TOKYO BEEF AND CHIMERSVENUE: THE TIVOLI, BRISBANEDATE:REVIEWER: HEAR2ZEN MAGAZINEPHOTOGRAPHER: ANDREW TREADWELL PHOTOGRAPHY The Gimmes are always labelled as a supergroup. Its likely a term they arent fond of even if the onstage personas say otherwise. They have a loyal fanbase, a crazy fanbase, but loyal. It was evident by the turnout at The Tivoli. A triple bill is always an exciting prospectand that always guarentees something for everyone, but I feel this one got a little lost. Tokyo Beef kicked off the night, and had an exhaustingly long journey from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, but did not look fatigued one bit as they just smashedout song after song. Live Review: Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness – Brisbane 2023 Live Review by Hear2Zen Magazine - February 15, 2023February 15, 20230 The man of many musical hats Andrew McMahon is back in Australia, but is also In The Wilderness on his latest tour.Hevenshe kicked off the evening with their own brand of alt angst music, and were given a respectable response from the Brisbane crowd. McMahon came on to little fanfare and in a show where its just a man and a piano, the intimacy is brought to the forefront, and you can see just how well the songs connect with the audience. While he must be spoilt for choice when it comes to material to play from his 3 amazing bands, it must also be a little bit of a dilemma to keep yourself and the fans happy sometimes. But happy

Hear 2 Zen Hangs With: David Drainman Of Disturbed Hear2Zen Hangs With by Hear2Zen Magazine - November 18, 2022November 18, 20220 Everywhere you look these days, hyper tribalism has taken hold. Those in power continue to use fear and hate mongering to further empower themselves, continuing to try to turn us against one another. Pick a subject…any subject, and those who wield power will do all they can to make it a divisive issue, encouraging people to pick a side, insisting that their viewpoint is the only correct one. This record is a critique of this dangerous status quo we are living in. Partisan tribal warfare has become a part of our regular existence nowadays. It’s one big battle of the cliques. The whole idea of the record is to be a wakeup call for everyone. Our society has become addicted

News: Kav Temperley Shares ‘Machines Of Love And Grace’ Single, With Eskimo Joe National Tour In Sept/Oct Uncategorized by Hear2Zen Magazine - May 14, 20220 Eskimo Joe frontman Kav Temperley furthers his sublime solo endeavours, releasing a deeply poetic, ethereal-yet-pounding new single Machines Of Love And Grace. Tackling the themes of connectivity in the digital age, Kav has also today shared an affecting music video for Machines Of Love And Grace, simultaneously capturing the track’s existential narrative and driving instrumentals alongside Kav’s dynamic stylings. Machines Of Love And Grace was not inspired by the Richard Brautigan poem (although Temperley does admire his work), but by the notion theorists have put forward that humans are outliers on the planet – a virus upon it - because we put so much emphasis on love and empathy, ideals which don't really exist in the animal kingdom. Their sixth album Obsidian, released 22nd April 2022 continues the amalgamation of heavy metal and EDM but is a very different album to Alien. There are songs on Alien that I just didn’t rate as highly as others but with Obsidian,
Album Review: Ocean Grove – Up In The Air Forever Album Reviews by Hear2Zen Magazine - April 28, 2022April 28, 20220 Artist: Ocean GroveAlbum: Up In The Air ForeverLabel: UNFDRelease Date: April 22nd 2022Reviewer: Belinda Mann Ocean Grove are an Australian band from Melbourne who formed in 2010. Their musical style is generally considered nu metal, grunge, nu metalcore and hardcore punk. The band themselves often describe their sound as ‘Odd World Music”.
