H2ZHW: Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt

In this episode we are lucky to be hanging with the legendary Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme.

We were lucky to cover a lot of bases with Nuno. We chat about the new album, which is one of our favourites of 2023, and I think the best of their career to date. Other things on the list is the chance of Extreme playing a VH3 track, his relationship with Washburn Guitars, the legacy of a 40 year old career and his production company Atlantis Entertainment Thanks to Nuno for his time, this was a bucket list interview for me! Cannot wait to see the guys on our shores very very soon

Extreme will be on our shores soon in support of their amazing new album “Six” and will be bringing their friends Living Colour along for the ride Extreme swings between unapologetic fits of fret-burning hard rock and intimately introspective balladry. This dynamic affirms the iconic multiplatinum Beantown quartet—Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass), and Kevin Figueiredo (drums)—as one of rock’s most unpredictable, undeniable, and unbreakable groups whose songs course through the very fabric of popular culture.

Living Colour emerged onto the scene and made the people stop and take notice. Formed in 1984 and spearheaded by guitarist Vernon Reid, their music became a creative fusion influenced by free jazz, funk, hard rock and heavy metal. By 1986, the band started to solidify, with Corey Glover joining on vocals, bassist Muzz Skillings and drummer Will Calhoun anchoring the rhythm section that helped hone their unique blend of music with broad-based appeal.
