News: Everlyne Release Demanding New Song “The Inbetween”

Melbourne alternative rock band Everlyne have catapulted in a formidable new direction with their latest single, The Inbetween, featuring a fiery guest-spot from Brisbane-based hip hop artist, Rivilin.

Everlyne’s mammoth new track fuses a dark, dramatic sound with refined electronic production and features. In collaboration with producer Chris Lalic (Windwaker, The Last Martyr), the quartet have delivered their most impressive release yet, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the band.

Throughout the single, vocalist Mackenzie Shaye moves from emotive to anthemic with ease creating a cinematic earworm that seeks to keep listeners hooked at every turn.

Speaking to the song’s themes and conception, Shaye shares, “The Inbetween describes the motion and feeling of taking back the power from someone who previously held it over you, whilst also learning to accept your own fate in the process.”

The Inbetween is accompanied by a dynamic and alluring music video directed by Colin Jeffs of Ten of Swords Media (Make Them Suffer, Redhook). Featuring fire dancers and burlesque performers, the visuals perfectly capture the feeling of empowerment that comes as a result of being released from the purgatory of another’s control. Watch here.

Forming in 2019, Everlyne is an energetic, alternative rock band specialising in their unique meld of soaring powerhouse vocals from vocalist Shaye against a backdrop of heavy-hitting, driving instrumentation from her three counterparts. Brothers Nathan Borg and Jordan Borg take on the roles of guitarist and bassist and are joined by drummer Sam Stone to make up the four-piece.

Influenced by staples of the alternative music scene in Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon and Halestorm, Everlyne toe the line connecting their influences and experiment with haunting vocal performances, chugging guitar riffs and contagious melodies.

Everlyne have been constantly writing and recording and have showcased their electric live show in support of acts including Slowly SlowlyColumbus, and The Smith Street BandThe Inbetween is the quartet’s first release since their 2022 debut EP, It’s Not Me, It’s You which saw radio play nationally on triple j’s short.fast.loud, Triple M’s Hard N Heavy, community radio and more.

Pooling their collective talent and energy together, Everlyne have a hunger to prove they’re an Aussie act to keep eyes on. The Inbetween is out now and streaming everywhere
