Opening the Australian leg of his tour at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Benson Boone didn’t just put on a concert, he put on an absolute masterclass in arena showmanship.
From the second he hit the stage, Boone’s energy was completely off the charts. Equal parts powerhouse vocalist and gymnast, he tore across the stage, executing effortless backflips, and working the elevated catwalks. The production of this show equals the man himself and you can tell Boone and his team pulled out all the stops to match his intensity. From the cinematic Star Wars inspired intro, to the pyro, sparklers, and cascading bursts of confetti, it was exactly what a start of his stature should deliver
Yet, amid the massive visual spectacle, the true strength of the night lay in its heart. During “Momma Song,” personal home videos tracing Boone’s journey from early childhood to graduation played across the massive screens, turning the stadium into a tight knit close show
The emotional part of the evening arrived with Benson delivering an unforgettable moment of sheer warmth. He brought 13-year-old Kenzie Riddle, a brave young cancer patient celebrating her birthday, right up onto the stage. Sharing his mic with her to sing his mega-hit “Beautiful Things,” the entire arena joined in, turning thousands of voices into a single, unified chorus that gave everyone in attendance chills, and there was not a dry eye in the house
While an arena stage might be a newer territory for him, the “Wanted Man” made us want him even more. Massive respect to Benson Boone. He isn’t just a singer; he is a genuine artist and a rare kind of performer. You could literally feel the passion and energy radiating to the back rows of the venue. He knows exactly how to translate raw emotion into an unforgettable experience for every single person watching.
Go ahead and brag about Benny to your family and friends today, we just witnessed a spectacular display of live entertainment right here in Brisbane. What a total privilege to watch an artist put this much heart into his craft. What a show.
