Live Review: Night At The Parkland Night 3

The natural amphitheatre at Roma Street Parkland provided the perfect backdrop for Night 3 of Night at the Parkland. Under a clear Brisbane sky, crowds settled into the grassy picnic zone at the back or took up close-up seating near the main stage, creating an effortless, starry-night vibe.

Local favorite Jaymon Bob kicked off the music at. His opening set marked a neat full-circle milestone, sharing the venue with Human Nature’s Phil Burton after the two first crossed paths on Australian Idol.

As the sun setHuman Nature took command of the stage. Decades of Las Vegas residency experience shone through every moment of their bespoke, high-energy performance. Their signature tight vocal harmonies and seamless choreography had the crowd hooked from the first note.

Human Nature leaned into pure nostalgia by weaving their own classic boyband hits into the early set. Crowd-pleasers like “Tellin’ Everybody,” “He Don’t Love You,” and “Wishes” immediately transported the audience back to the late ’90s and early 2000s, proving those original harmonies haven’t lost a single beat.

The energy shifted up a gear as the quartet launched into a powerhouse selection of Motown and jukebox classics. The crowd was on its feet for soul-drenched renditions of “Reach Out,” “My Girl,” “Baby I Need Your Loving,” and “Dancing in the Street.” They kept the momentum soaring right through to the end with hit-after-hit performances of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Run Around Sue,” “Stand by Me,” and “Under the Boardwalk.”

Night at the Parkland isn’t slowing down. Catch Icehouse Friday, PNAU on Saturday, and Missy Higgins closing out the festival on Sunday.
