News: The Dead Daisies Are Looking For Trouble, At The Crossroads

The Dead Daisies have released their rendition of “Crossroads,” the first single from their upcoming album, Lookin’ For Trouble, under Fame/Malaco Records. This classic song, originally by Robert Johnson, holds a legendary place in American music history, famed for its story of Johnson allegedly selling his soul to the devil for musical prowess.

In this reimagined version, the band infuses their trademark energy with powerful guitars, dynamic rhythms, and passionate vocals, paying homage to the song’s rich blues roots while making it their own.

Vocalist John Corabi spoke on the influence of blues music on various genres, expressing hope that listeners will enjoy their interpretation as much as the band enjoyed creating it. Bassist Michael Devin also acknowledged the song’s deep mythos in rock history, emphasizing their unique take on this iconic piece.

This release highlights both the enduring legacy of “Crossroads” and The Dead Daisies’ commitment to preserving and revitalizing blues music for new audiences.

Lookin’ For Trouble marks The Dead Daisies’ first full-length blues album, conceived in March 2024 during sessions for their rock album Light ‘Em Up. The band initially recorded at Sienna Studios in Nashville before heading to the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a place renowned for its rich musical heritage and a host of iconic artists like Aretha Franklin and Etta James.

Immersed in this historic environment, band members John Corabi, David Lowy, Doug Aldrich, Michael Devin, and drummer Sarah Tomek began to explore the blues genre more deeply, jamming on classic blues tracks after their rock sessions. Noticing the chemistry and magic in these late-night jams, producer Marti Frederiksen decided to capture these spontaneous sessions, ultimately leading to the creation of Lookin’ For Trouble.

The album embodies the raw energy and rebellious spirit of blues, a genre historically viewed with suspicion due to its themes of rebellion and hardship. Corabi points out that the album’s title reflects the past perceptions of blues, once labeled “the Devil’s Music.” Over the past decade, The Dead Daisies have built a reputation for their soulful, blues-infused rock and continue to push musical boundaries with this new release.

The band will be hitting the road again in 2025 on their European March Tour and showcase a couple of blues songs from their upcoming album. For more information  and to purchase tickets, please visit https://thedeaddaisies.com/tour-2025/
