FESTIVALS – CROWDED HOUSE TO HEADLINE A MASSIVE LINE UP FOR RED HOT SUMMER TOUR, LEGENDS ON THE LAWN AND SOUNDS BY THE RIVER

RED HOT SUMMER TOUR is
thrilled to announce a spectacular line-up for their massive outdoor shows. The next series will be
headlined by one of the world’s most iconic and spellbinding bands, Crowded House. They will be
supported by a stellar all Australian line-up featuring Angus & Julia Stone, The Church, Mark
Seymour with Vika & Linda and The Waifs.

Crowded House have sold over 15 million records worldwide as well as earning a Brit Award, 13
Australian ARIA Awards, 3 Aotearoa Music Awards and an MTV VMA, the band have generated
billions of streams, consistently sold-out tours on multiple continents and have been captivating
audiences for nearly four decades. Originally founded by Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, and the late Paul
Hester, the group’s self-titled debut in 1986 went platinum, uplifted by worldwide smashes “Something
So Strong” and “Don’t Dream It’s Over” which has been covered by everyone from Miley Cyrus and
Ariana Grande to U2, among others.

In 1996, the group delivered a legendary performance to an audience of over 150,000 on the steps of
the Sydney Opera House, beginning a hiatus that finished in the wake of Paul’s passing in 2005. This
led to albums Time on Earth (2007) and Intriguer (2010) and a return to the Sydney Opera House for
four unforgettable nights. 2018 saw Neil join Fleetwood Mac as a full-time member, canvassing the
globe on a massive world tour. Two years later, he and Nick led another era of Crowded House,
forming the band’s current line-up. They issued their first full-length offering in eleven years, the
unanimously acclaimed Dreamers Are Waiting (2021) and the band leapt into a rapturous world tour
in support. From joining his brother Tim in the New Wave favourites Split Enz to leading Crowded
House to his numerous solo efforts, Neil’s varied body of work is connected by his knack for penning
meticulous, indelible melodies and impressionistic lyrics that demand multiple listens. It’s earned him
devoted fans all over the globe.

Crowded House released their eighth studio album ‘Gravity Stairs’ last year to rave reviews.
Produced by the band with Steven Schram, the album showcases the band in its current incarnation
— Finn, Nick Seymour, Mitchell Froom, and Finn’s sons Elroy and Liam.

Angus & Julia Stone are an acclaimed sibling singing/songwriting duo whose music spans intimate
folk and dreamy indie pop, captivating audiences worldwide since their formation in 2006. They have
released six albums, including their breakthrough success Down The Way, featuring the single ‘Big
Jet Plane’, which has amassed over 600 million streams, and earned the group 5 ARIA Award wins,1 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and a #1 ARIA Album Chart debut. Whilst the duo predominantly self- produce their records, they have also worked with the likes of Rick Rubin on their acclaimed self-titled LP. With over 20 years of international touring under their belts, building a loyal and ever-growing global fan base, their most recent sold-out international tour for the album ‘Cape Forestier’ marked a milestone—bringing their music to South and Central America for the first time. Ahead of a new record landing in 2026, Angus & Julia are bringing old and new songs to the stage.

The Church are one of the most successful and enduring bands of the post-punk era and continue to
remain a treasured creative force. They were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2010 reaffirming
their status as one of the world’s greatest live acts. The Church continue to create timeless music
that deeply resonates with audiences worldwide. From their early days in Sydney’s underground
scene to their global overground success, The Church remain one of the most innovative and
enduring bands of their era.

Mark Seymour and Vika & Linda first met forty years ago in a South Melbourne studio, their voices
blending on the first Vika & Linda album, later on a Hunters and Collectors record and then most
recently on the Red Hot Summer Tour of ’23. They will be joining forces for this concert series as a
combined ensemble, in a celebration of songs made popular from forty years of work and a shared
belief in live Australian music. There’ll be stories, laughter, truth, maybe some tears. Get ready for
some powerful harmonies from three of the biggest voices in the country right now.

Mark Seymour formed Hunters and Collectors in 1980, with a bunch of Uni friends. The band
became famous for its rhythmic power and very quickly became touted as the “next big thing”. The
Album “Human Frailty“ was recorded in Melbourne in 1985. This record has proven to be one of the
most important and enduring records of the eighties and Hunters and Collectors were still playing a
large part of this cut in 1998 when they retired. With “Human Frailty“ Mark discovered, love, loss, and
pop melody. His solo records are directly connected to this era and bear the same stamp of raw
honesty and emotional power.

As a solo artist, Mark continues to search for the emotional truth in a song. His strength as a
performer remains undiminished despite the ever-present shadow of the band he used to be in. As
well as 13 Hunters & Collectors albums, Mark has released nine studio albums, the latest “The Boxer”
released in 2024.  Throughout it all, he has shown he is one of our finest songwriters, capturing our
stories of love, loss, human courage and achievement.

Vika & Linda are the most loved vocal duo of their generation – admired and respected by fans and
fellow artists, they’ve been singing together their entire lives. It all began in a church and from church
to the charts they have enjoyed a remarkable musical journey. After three classic albums with the
Black Sorrows, Vika & Linda have released eight studio albums, two live albums and a chart-topping
anthology. They have sung on number one albums by Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and John
Farnham, done gigs for the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and the King of Tonga, and released their
first memoir “No Bull” in 2022, documenting their journey from suburban Melbourne to the top of the
charts.  They have been nominated for four ARIA Awards and have been each awarded a Medal of
the Order of Australia.

From their inception, The Waifs traversed Australia playing every small town with a local paper, a
local radio station, a pub or hall that would host live music, and someone willing to listen, of which
there were many! Constant touring laid a broad foundation, musical chemistry, and an approachable
relatability through their lyrics solidified a lifelong, dedicated fan base.

The original independent avant-garde folk heroes turned multiplatinum-selling, multiple ARIA Award-
winning, international touring outfit have released eight LPs, self-titled The Waifs(1996), Shelter
Me(1998) and Sink or Swim(2000), Up All Night(2003), Sun Dirt Water(2007), Temptation(2011),
Beautiful You(2015) and Ironbark(2017), and two live albums A Brief History(2004) and Live From the Union Of Soul(2009). They have headlined countless festivals stages and sold-out tours across the
globe, opening or the likes of the legend himself, Bob Dylan. The Waifs continue to forge a proudly
independent path 30 years on and show no sign of slowing down.
