Don Broco, RedHook & Future Static – Live at The Princess Theatre, Brisbane
There’s nothing better than rocking up to a venue and seeing a line wrapped around the block. It’s a sure sign the crowd is there early and ready to throw love at every band on the bill. With this show being all ages, it was especially cool to see younger fans taking over the balcony, setting the pace for the night.
Future Static
Melbourne’s Future Static kicked things off with precision and power. Their songs hit tight, the musicianship shone, and the vocal pairing of Ami and Kira was a standout, their voices weaving together seamlessly. It’s no surprise they’ve been scoring so many support slots with international acts and will soon be part of the inaugural Hellbound Cruise. Tracks like “Venenose,” “Hourglass” and “Roach Queen” are proof of why they deserve every bit of the buzz.

RedHook
Next up were the self-described “screaming rap rock electro pop mutants”, and honestly, there’s no better way to put it. Over the past few years, RedHook have gone from strength to strength, and seeing them live makes it easy to understand why. Craig, Ned and Alex provide the tight, electrifying backbone, while Emmy Mack storms the stage like a force of nature. Her energy doesn’t dip for a second. She’s fierce, playful, and empowering all at once. Watching her in action, it was clear the younger fans in the room were walking away inspired. Bubble machines during “Hot Tub” gave the set an extra sparkle, while new tracks like “Dr. Frankenstein” and “HEXXX” blended perfectly with fan favorites. Closing on “Bad Decisions” left the room buzzing, and judging by the line at the merch desk, plenty of people made the right call.

Don Broco
And then, ding, ding, ding …..it was time for the main event. True to their word, Don Broco officially kicked off their world tour in Australia. Brisbane, to be exact, and what a way to start.
A Don Broco show isn’t just a gig; it’s a full-blown experience. From the very first note, the band had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Rob Damiani’s charismatic presence is magnetic, equal parts cheeky and commanding, and the whole band feeds off that energy. Constantly moving, swapping spots on stage, and locking in with different parts of the audience, they turned The Princess Theatre into one big party.
The setlist balanced heavy anthems, groove-driven bangers, and singalongs that had the whole room moving. The live debut of “Cellophane” and “Hype Man” proved Don Broco aren’t afraid to push forward and surprise fans, while staples like “Everybody,” “Bruce Willis” and “T-Shirt Song” reminded everyone why their shows have such a legendary reputation.
Whether they’re smashing it on a festival stage overseas or inside a packed theatre, Don Broco give it everything, every time. Brisbane got the first taste of this world tour, and if this night is anything to go by, fans everywhere else are in for something unforgettable.
