“The band’s precision was nothing short of impeccable, hitting every note with an intensity that resonated through the venue. Their sound was a perfect blend of brutality and melody, showcasing why HammerFall are considered legends in the world of pure power heavy fucking metal”.
Well, I really have only a few words from last night’s HammerFall show “Fucking Incredible” Well that’s only two but sums it up to a tee and I have used up my “F” bomb quota already. Wow just wow! The second gig for 2025 for me reviewing and behind the lens and HammerFall did not disappoint. From the moment they took the stage, it was evident that this Swedish powerhouse was here to deliver an unforgettable show.
Huge thanks to Perth’s Silent Knight and Brissy’s own Valhalore for getting the metal party started with their amazing sets! Silent Knight’s soaring melodies and powerful riffs were a perfect kick off, and they had the crowd energized and headbanging from the get-go. Valhalore’s unique blend of styles and intense stage presence kept the momentum going, delivering a performance that was both brutal and captivating. Both bands set the stage on fire and prepared us perfectly for HammerFall’s epic show. We appreciate the talent and dedication you brought to the tour—thank you for making it an unforgettable night of pure heavy metal brilliance!
I mean this was perfect in every aspect, I did forget I had a job to do at times behind the lens as the pure class of this band was something to behold and I was awestruck at how bloody amazing they were. The energy was contagious, with fans singing along to every anthem as if their lives depended on it and did, I mention Pure Heavy Metal! (yes I’ve said that a few times already! Shoot me!) I don’t know how the bands from Europe do it? Must be bought up that way or there is something in the water? Whatever it is HammerFall are the masters of this art and tonight the Brissy faithful were treated to something special, something really bloody special.
Joacim Cans vocals were on fire delivering a perfect blend of melodic and aggressive, capturing the true essence of power metal. His ability to engage the audience with both his singing and his hilarious banter banter adds an element of fun and engages the audience looking at the logo banner behind the band and then stating it was missing but probably bought on eBay with shipping, please send it back to him!
The band is tight I mean really tight! Seeing guitarists Oscar Dronjak and Pontus Norgren live is a transcendent experience for any heavy metal enthusiast. The dynamic duo are truly masters of their craft, delivering jaw-dropping performances that blend technical artistry with raw, unbridled energy. Their synergy on stage is palpable, whether they’re harmonizing on epic riffs or trading off blistering solos that left the Brisvegas crowd drooling for more! Iconic poses and fluid shredding create a visual and auditory spectacle that exemplifies pure heavy metal showmanship. Watching them perform live is something to behold capturing the heart and soul of power metal.
When it comes to HammerFall, the rhythm section (We all know the rhythm section rules right?) commands the stage with unwavering authority. Bassist Fredrik Larsson crafts each note with precision and power, anchoring the band’s sound with a relentless drive that is nothing short of mesmerizing. His thunderous bass lines fill the venue, providing an unshakeable foundation for the band’s melodic journeys. Fredrik’s powerful presence and boundless energy ensure that the crowd is constantly engaged, feeling every pulse of the music right through their bones. His connection with the audience is undeniable, and it is clear that he revels in the shared experience of heavy metal’s pure, unadulterated intensity.
Drummer David Wallin is the heartbeat of HammerFall, bringing a level of finesse and ferocity that transforms the live experience into a rhythmic masterclass. His precision and speed are breathtaking, effortlessly weaving intricate patterns that keep the band in perfect sync. Wallin’s drumming is not just about keeping time; it is about creating a kinetic energy that propels both the band and the audience into a state of euphoria. Watching him navigate through complex fills and pounding beats, it is evident that Wallin’s contribution is crucial to HammerFall’s signature sound. Together, Larsson and Wallin form an unstoppable rhythm section that highlights why HammerFall’s live performances are celebrated as a testament to the power of heavy metal music.
So, I am sorry to say…If you missed HammerFall live, you missed one of the best shows I have seen in my lifetime. An incredible show that was an absolute masterclass in heavy metal. A rollercoaster performance of precision, energy, and sheer musical prowess that will take a little to top this year so far, an amazing start to 2025.
