Ladies and gentlemen, boys, and girls, and all you rock ‘n’ roll rebels out there, buckle up because I am about to take you on a wild ride through the most electrifying concert of the year! Ocean Grove stormed into The Triffid last night with besties Inertia and Paledusk, and let me tell you, it was an absolute whirlwind of sound and fury.

Opening Acts: Inertia & Paledusk
Inertia, and holy smokes, where have these guys been all my life? Frontman Julian Latouche’s vocal range is like a rollercoaster ride through the heavens and the depths of hell. Julians vocal acrobatics were on full display, hitting notes so high they registered on the Richter scale. From the first note of “Leviathan,” the crowd was off their chops. A mix of angelic high notes to demonic growls, this guy’s got it all. It was clear we were in for a night of pure, unadulterated chaos. The crowd? Absolutely nuts!

The setlist was a smorgasbord of their best. “Dying to Let You Go” had the crowd singing along so loud and the riffs were heavier and chunky It was pure, unadulterated chaos, and we loved every second of it. But the highlight of the night for me “Static” and “Too Far Gone” had everyone up. By the end of the set, we were all drenched in sweat, ears ringing, and grinning like a bunch of cheshire cats.

Then came Paledusk the Japanese quartet that brought their A-game and a whole lot of flying roundhouse kicks. Imagine a tornado, a rock concert, and a martial arts tournament all rolled into one. From the moment they launched into their opening track, “Loose Yourself,” the crowd was whipped into a frenzy. Lead vocalist Kaito’s energy was off the charts, and his stage presence was like a caffeine-fuelled ninja, darting around and delivering vocals that could shatter glass. The audience in a sea of headbanging, moshing, and the occasional flying roundhouse kick. It was beautiful chaos.
The highlight for me a jaw-dropping performance of “Slay!” “Rumble,” “Area PD,” and “Black Ice” – absolute killers! If you ever get the chance to see Paledusk live, don’t hesitate. Just remember to bring earplugs, a towel, and maybe some ninja reflexes.

The Main Event: Ocean Grove

And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for – Ocean Grove. These guys have carved out their own genre in the rock and metal scene, and they call it Oddworld Music. Trust me, it’s as wild and wonderful as it sounds.

From the first note of “Lights on Kind of Lover,” the crowd was into it! The energy was electric, with everyone jumping! Lead singer Dale Tanner’s charisma was off the charts, and his vocals. Mate, they could shatter glass.

The setlist was a rollercoaster of anthems. “Superstar” had the crowd singing along so loud, I am sure the majority of the Brisvegas village could hear it! And when they launched into “Thunderdome,” the place went into chaos.

The live debut of “Raindrop,” was a highlight and let me tell you, it was a moment to remember. The song’s haunting melody and powerful lyrics had everyone in the venue swaying in unison. It was a beautiful madness, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Neo” and “Stratosphere Love” (featuring Kaito of Paledusk) were absolute highlights. Kaito’s guest appearance added an extra layer of intensity, and the crowd went wild. By the time “Silver Lining” rolled around, we were all exhausted but begging for more. Ocean Grove’s ability to blend genres and create a unique sound is truly something to behold.

For the encore, they hit us with “Sunny” and “Junkie$,” leaving us all on a high note. If you ever get the chance to see Ocean Grove live grab a ticket and get ready for a night of hectic madness. Just remember to bring earplugs, a towel, and those ninja reflexes and moves I mentioned earlier! Jump on there rest of this Aussie Tour!
