What an epic night!
The storm show on our way to the Gold Coast was amazing! We really weren’t sure if we were going to make the trip just to turn around around and go home, but we were trying anyway, and it paid off!!!
Ever so grateful for the continuous updates from People First Stadium, and for looking out for peoples safety. The effort to keep everyone safe and keep the concert going would have taken alot and I appreciate the efforts of all involved.
With a little patience and a slight delay, we still got to share the night with one of the all time greats, Pearl Jam!!
For me it had been 15 years too long since last seeing these guys, and they honestly just get better and better!
I don’t think Eddie’s vocals could ever waiver. Mike’s skills with the guitar still hold strong and the performance for the entire band was just flawless.
Opening with ‘Corduroy’ then straight into ‘Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town’, I am sure I was not the only one in the crowd overcome by excitment and emotion!
Hearing ‘Why Go’ at song 4 was pretty cool, it had been in my head since we hit the road for the unknown ‘why go home, why go home’, when you could be going to Pearl Jam! So Good!
We got plenty of songs off the Dark Matter album and as always, a bunch from Ten.
I still can’t believe the Gold Coast got ‘Black’ and ‘Alive’, how lucky were we!
One of my favorote things is how Pearl J am never play the same set list and I haven’t been disappointed yet!
(Although, I would have loved to hear ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’ live….. maybe next time).
Notable favourites ‘React, Respond’ with Eddie’s political tidbit thrown in had the crowd going off. One of my favorites from the Gigaton album, ‘Quick Escape’ was awesome to hear live and the crowd was super into it.
‘Daughter’ of course incredibly well received by the crowd, such a classic! But I love how Pearl Jam just have a way of making even a classic so much more special live. The band came in at the end with Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ with Eddie changing the lyrics to ‘Politicians leave the girls alone, A woman’s choices is your own’ which he prefaced by saying ‘in America’, but that story is so prevalent in QLD politics at the moment, and I am sure every woman in the crowd cheered Eddie Vedder in that moment just as loud as I did! Thanks Eddie!
Pearl Jam closed out the night with ‘Better Man’, ‘Alive’ and their famed Neil Young cover ‘Rockin in the Free World’. And it really felt like we were. Before we left the stadium to travel home, we really did rock the night away! How grateful I am for the opportunity and freedom to do so!
I had so much fun all night, I danced with strangers in drink lines, roared lyrics with new friends and lost myself to live music, is there a better way to spend an evening!
It was truly a special one I am sure all who attended will never forget!
To Pearl Jam, Live Nation and Revolutions Per Minute PR thank you so much for having us along to share such an amazing night. We are very grateful.
Until the next gig

Thanks for the live feeds last night. Made me feel like I was almost there. Eddie Vedder’s signature vocals are as great as ever and the crowd responded with every word. Looked like every fan were on their feet, rocking & dancing. Wished I was there amongst it all!
