It was an unusual but very welcome mother and daughter date as we headed to Brisbane Entertainment Center. My daughter was very excited, she has seen Teddy Swims on every tour he has had in Australia and is a big fan.
Australians own Matt Corby opened the everyone with his deep lyrics, smooth tones and a groove that just makes you want to move!
From old songs to New, Matt Corby and his band delivered a beautiful set to get us in the mood for the main event!
Teddy Swims took the stage like a man who had been on one his whole life! Hard to believe he’s only been doing this on stage since 2020!
But with his commanding voice and vivacious energy, when he is on that stage there is no where else you want to look!!
Opening with ‘Not your Man’, Teddy Swims instantly had the crown in the plan of his hand, screaming and singling along!
During the 2nd song, ‘Hammer to the Heart’ we got our first proposal of the night, right down in front of teddy on the floor, and you could tell he was just blown away by the moment. And even more so when it happened again later in the night during ‘All that really matters’. Congratulations to both the newly engaged couples!
Another special moment during the night, Teddy honored a fan by doing her gender reveal! Congratulations on your baby boy!!
Teddy sang the beautiful song he wrote for his own son ‘Small Hands’ and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!
Notable favorite through the night were ‘Devil in a Dress’, ‘911’, ‘Black & White’ and ‘Guilty’!
Teddy famously covered songs on YouTube before releasing his first record, so it was only fitting to have a cover of ‘Still the One’ during the jukebox section of the night! The screens in the background were a great addition to the entertainment!
Finishing out the set with his smash hit ‘Loose Control’ Teddy Swims delivered a monster performance to match his monster voice! And supported by a fantastic and fun band, it was a great night in live music!
And the party kept going with a 3 song encore including ‘Bed on Fire’s which Teddy sing with one of his backing singers! This was another aspect I loved during the night, there was opportunity for each of the 3 to have their own moment to shine during duets with Teddy throughout the night which just added to the humbleness that radiated from the stage.
Closing out the night with ‘Goodbye’s Been Good to You’ and
‘The Door’, Teddy Swims showed us why he is now selling out arenas in Australia, only 3 years after his first tour down under.
And we absolutely cannot wait to have you back in Australia and see where your amazing career heads next!
