If you thought a night at the Brisbane Princess Theatre couldn’t get more regal, think again. Within Temptation turned this classic venue into a symphonic metal kingdom with their breathtaking performance, opening with the powerful anthem “We Go to War.” For those unfamiliar with these Dutch masters, Within Temptation has been dominating the symphonic metal scene for over two decades, boasting seven incredible studio albums.
As the band launched into classics like “Shot in the Dark” and “Faster,” the energy in the room was palpable. Sharon den Adel, the enigmatic frontwoman, looked stunning and delivered flawless vocals from start to finish. Her mesmerizing rendition of “Angels” brought the theatre to its knees, proving once again why she is a force to be reckoned with.
The guitars were nothing short of spectacular, with blistering solos and a perfect blend of rhythm and melody. The tight backline of bass, drums, and keys kept the show grounded, ensuring the crowd was spellbound throughout the night.
Brilliant songs like “Paradise (What About Us?)” and “Stand My Ground” had the audience singing along, while the grand finale of “Mother Earth” left everyone in awe. It was a fitting end to a night that spanned over 20 years of musical mastery.
