Following on from their latest single ‘Mind Your Own’ released earlier this year, Sydney trio 51st Avenue are bringing in the warmer weather with their new single ‘Find Me’ – a future summer anthem that perfectly blends their pop-rock and electronic sensibilities.
The band’s writing process for ‘Find Me’ started in their own little ‘HQ” – a simple garage turned music studio in the suburbs of Sydney. Working with producer Kaz Benson (NSB, Jefo, Cherbear), they brought the track almost to completion, before entrusting Mark Williamson (Keywork Audio – Inertia, After Touch, Broken Earth) to add the finishing touches to the production – layering soaring vocal harmonies over bright guitar tones and sliding synths.
“Our good friend, producer and recording artist Kaz Benson sits in with us during our writing or ‘pre-production’ phase, as we assemble the track to 95% completion. Kaz has been instrumental in the production of the pop and electronic elements in our music that really makes it undeniably ‘51st Avenue’. From here it was off to see Mark Williamson (Keywork Audio) to take our track to the next level. Mark has a keen ear for heavy music and is able to craft guitar and bass tones that compliment our pop/electro elements, tweaking them were required to really make the track stand out.” – Scott Gerrard, 51st Avenue
“This song in general is about having a good time. We imagine this as a ‘summer vibe’ – forgetting about your troubles and enjoying life whether that be through simple things or going out and partying.” – 51st Avenue
‘Find Me’ is released alongside an official music video filmed at Mimmynvovo in Sydney. Directed by Oliver Clark (DUNELABS), 51st Avenue have created the perfect visual accompaniment to the feel-good energy of the song.
“The video encapsulates the exact feel of the song. It’s one big party vibe – It’s definitely not serious and you can see that we had an absolute blast in the video. ” – 51st Avenue
