West Thebarton are thrilled to announce their new studio album ‘Mongrel Australia’ will be released March 22, 2024, via Domestic La La!
‘Mongrel Australia’ is the follow-up to their stunning 2018 debut, ‘Different Beings Being Different’, and features eleven tracks, recorded in The Little Smoke© (Adelaide, South Australia). Produced & mixed by Dylan Adams, engineered by Jack Nigro at Twin Earth Studios, Somerton Park, SA.
The band gave you a taste of what’s to come via their most recent offering, June’s ‘Victory’ EP, which featured the single ‘George Michael’. “A euphoric track celebrating those moments where everything is bright and rosy, all your troubles are washed away” The Au Review.
This week they unveil the next single from the album, ‘Desire’, “Desire is the pull of the coast, the craving of passion and a feeling of irresistible release when you separate yourself from the world for a split second and escape,” says Ray Dalfsen. “I wrote it while reimagining a moment in time, being alone with the person you love, and life stops in its tracks. It might brew a lil milder than what you’re used to but it’s not a ‘fuck you’ to pub rock, more like a ‘keep the light on, I’ve gotta get away for a second, but I’ll be back soon.’”
West Thebarton woke up from a short slumber earlier in 2023, delivering new music and a blistering East Coast tour, gathering momentum on a scale to ensure they cascade into 2024! Keep your eye out for album tour dates in the coming months!
