Riding hot off the back of last year’s inaugural Lookout Festival comes the long-awaited announcement for 2025!  Lookout is turning up the energy and bringing a line-up of iconic events that will be nothing short of extraordinary!

Get set to experience Australian rock legends Jet, Grinspoon, The Veronicas, Spiderbait, Jebediah, Magic Dirt & Youth Group in one electrifying event.  Gather your crew and get amongst the waves of roaring live music in this truly unique concert experience.

Lookout is a premier live music series that honours the very best of alternative rock—featuring timeless tracks and fresh, powerful sounds. This is where rock unites in a unique setting to form an unforgettable and outstanding live music experience.  This event is for those who love soaking in electric live music and rocking with their mates on a huge day out – for those who not only want to hear music but to really feel it.

Originally hailing from Dingley in Melbourne, Jet quickly conquered the world after forming in2001, selling more than 6.5 million albums globally and securing almost 10 x Platinum certification in Australia and Platinum in the USA and UK for their 2003 debut album “Get Born”.  The album produced a string of classic singles in “Are You Gonna Be My Girl”, “Rollover DJ”, and “Look What You’ve Done” and netted the band 6 x 2004 ARIA awards. Both “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” and “Cold Hard Bitch” peaked at number1 on the US Modern Rock singles charts and propelled the band to the top of festival bills and charts around the world.

Jet’s follow up album “Shine On” followed in 2006 and was rammed full of another collection of melodic rockers including, “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is”, “Bring It On Back” and “Rip It Up”, and achieved platinum status in Australia on the back of stand-out headline shows around the world, and an unforgettable Big Day Out run in 2007.

In November 2023 Jet received the honour of being the 2023 ARIA Hall Of Fame Inductees.

With 14 ARIA Award nominations, over half a million records sold, multi-platinum sales across 25 years, and an untouchable live reputation, Grinspoon’s impact on contemporary Australian rock is undeniable. Their influence continues to shape the Australian rock scene, and “whatever, whatever” is a testament to their lasting legacy and creative rejuvenation.

Following the release of the band’s new album, whatever, whateverGrinspoon landed an impressive #3 ARIA Album chat debut for their 8th studio album release, their first new release in 12 years. The record’s success underscores the band’s enduring appeal and their ability to deliver music that resonates deeply with their audience.

In a new era for Grinspoon, their 8th studio album titled “whatever, whatever” is an album of ferocity and an injection of adrenaline that marks a period of rejuvenation and a new peak for the band, who’ve spent recent years touring nationwide celebrating their untouchable now eight album-strong discography and legacy. Produced by Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, Teen Jesus and the jean Teasers, The Buoys), this album blends their iconic sound with fresh perspectives, highlighting their ability to evolve while staying true to their roots.

After playing 500+ live shows, seeing seven consecutive albums debut in the Top 10, with multi-platinum sales across 25 years, it’s fair to say they’ve earned their place in Australian music history. The band’s impressive tour ‘whatever, whenever, wherever’ kicked off in September with an extensive 45 date – performing to over 35,000 around Australia.

Alt-Pop icons The Veronicas have captivated millions around the globe as singers, songwriters, and style icons since 2005.  With their music they have created generational anthems and culture defining albums which have earned them several gold and multi-platinum RIAA and ARIA certifications and sold-out performances across the globe for nearly 2 decades.

After a bidding war in 2005 with “the grandfather of punk rock” Seymour Stein (Madonna, The Ramones) the twin sisters Jessie and Lisa signed to   his legendary label SIRERECORDS.  The Veronicas debuted with their now 4 x ARIA-certified platinum album ‘THE SECRET LIFE OF…’ with three top #5 hits including ‘4 EVER’ and ‘EVERYTHING I’M NOT’ with Swedish hitmaker Max Martin (Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, The Weekend).  In 2007, they released RIAA Gold album ‘HOOK ME UP’ skyrocketing The Veronicas into the USA Billboard charts with their 2 x RIAA Platinum top# 10 Billboard hit ‘UNTOUCHED’.  In 2015 they surprised their fans by releasing a piano driven ballad, “YOU RUIN ME”, a brave departure from their pop/rock roots.  This awarded The Veronicas their second #1hit, with a top#5 Billboard hit in the UK and throughout Europe.  In 2016 The Veronicas were back yet again with an ARIA #1 for their euphoric dance floor anthem “IN MY BLOOD”.  Over the past 5 years The Veronicas have released 2 more albums, both to critical acclaim with their recent 2024 album charting #1 in Australia.

As the first Australian artists ever to score a platinum record for downloads in the US (over 1 million records sold for 2007’s “UNTOUCHED”), twelve top 10 hits in Australia including three #1s; over half a billion streams and counting, countless awards under their belt from MTV Australia, MTV Europe, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, ARIA, APRA, TMF, & Los Premios MTV, The Veronicas are not slowing down.

Spiderbait’s story is as extraordinary as it is true: three friends from the small Australian town of Finley took on the national music scene and emerged victorious 25 years later. Despite their humble beginnings, Janet, Whitt, and Kram, blending influences from Slayer to The Bangles, carved out a unique niche in music. Starting in a shed on Janet’s farm, they moved to Melbourne and quickly became key figures in the vibrant music scene. With seven acclaimed albums, multiple ARIA Awards, and a significant live presence, Spiderbait remains a beloved and influential band. Their ongoing journey promises more exciting chapters to come.

It was almost 23 years ago that Jebediah first shambled on stage in their shorts, sneakers, blue hair, dimples, grins and smirks and started bouncing off the walls with their roaring riffs and soaring pop hooks, tearing the lid off the Big Day Out and the Hottest 100 overnight.

It’s impossible for an Australian of a certain vintage to imagine those late ’90s summers without those delirious early Jebs singles — ‘Jerks of Attention’, ‘Leaving Home’, ‘Teflon’, ‘Harpoon’, ‘Animal’ — blasting out of every car radio and festival PA.

23 years, six albums and piles of awards and acclaim later, the Jebs continue to captivate their devout fan base with their infectious energy and enthusiasm. There is no hiding the joy the band get from playing together and be it at packed pub or on a festival stage, it’s impossible to avoid their immersive charm.

Maybe it’s a matter of momentum, or a mix of elements combusting in the brain, or maybe it’s the planets aligning to bathe cosmic rays down on the band… but in the past year Magic Dirt have ignited a fire, thrown petrol on it and danced around the blaze with wild abandon. Operating entirely independently, with only their own resources, energy, enthusiasm and, most importantly, creativity to call upon … they have blazed into the most prodigious and prolific phase of their sixteen year career.

Adalita’s lyrics capture that fine point where adventure and danger meet, as her heroes and heroines struggle to make their way in this world, inhabiting the space where their judgement teeters between intrigue and apprehension.  No band better charts the territory where the allure of adventure and love and cheap thrills collides on a suburban street with the dangers and pitfalls that come with the package. Magic Dirt know that zone all too well, every intersection, back laneway and shut down corner store…  and they know there is a way through to the other side… that’s why their music means so much to so many. Forget that cosmic ray shit.  Magic Dirt plot their own course, pump their own gas and drive their own highway.

Long before their iconic cover of Alphaville’s ‘Forever Young’ became a number #1 Aussie hit, propelling them to national notoriety and earning them an ARIA award, Youth Group were already a much-loved indie rock band on Australia’s underground touring circuit. With two albums under their belt, their debut Urban & Eastern and 2004’s follow-up Skeleton Jar, the band had built a solid reputation for sharply observed lyrics and a wistful, chiming and effervescent sound.

After a decade long absence, Youth Group returned in 2019 with Australian Halloween arguably their most fully formed collection of songs yet. Propelled by singles ‘Cusp’ and ‘Erskineville Nights’, the album looked back at Australia from abroad, exploring themes of home, growing up, parenthood and the changing world, all set against the classic sound of Youth Group’s dynamic indie rock. The album received glowing reviews and was named Album of the Week and one of the Top 50 Albums of 2019 by Double J, all proof that the band had lost none of their charm while they’d been gone.
