AshenMoon are best described as a fusion of 70’s, Modern Rock and Classic Aussie Pub Rock, and the buzz surrounding this band is huge and they are headed our way for their debut Aussie shows.
Toby drops by to chat about so much. Be it the upcoming shows, how the initial connection with Gary was made, the collective influences that melded the band together and more. Toby gives us a peek behind the curtain, be it for Garys love of electronic music, bringing Jackie Barnes into the band for the shows here, guitarist Yohai Portal immense virtuosity, and all the while Rand speaks of his love for the art AshenMoon creates just as he traverses his range emotionally with tales of heartbreak, love, and redemption; something uniquely his own.

As they release their newest singles, GODTANK, DON’T WAKE ME and celestial track STARGAZE. Known for their raw energy, AshenMoon promises that these tracks will be the first of many new additions to its musical arsenal. The new songs were self-produced by the band and features AshenMoon’s eclectic blend of powerful melodies, Yohai Portal’s robust guitar riffs, Jason Ganberg’s signature drumming, and Garry Beers’ (INXS) iconic bass grooves.
Lead vocalist, Toby Rand, recalls when Beers first showed him the opening riff, of GODTANK, was the first piece of music Beers had written since the passing of best friend Michael Hutchence. Beers adds; “Writing the bones of Godtank provided a catharsis during the worst period of my life. Entrusting Toby to write lyrics and melodies has transformed it into one of our most powerful tracks yet.”
With the latest release of Stargaze, (featuring the gorgeous vocals of Kendall Rucks), AshenMoon embark on their first Australian Tour in March, and with an arsenal of new material.
After releasing the UMBRA I record during the pandemic, AM took a hiatus to realign and rework a vast catalogue of music. Partnerships with OneRPM and Premier Artists agency, ensure that 2025 will be busy year for AshenMoon.
